I once dreamed of becoming the CXO of a company.

For years, I chased that dream. My identity was tied to the hustle — working 70-80 hours a week, commuting 4 hours a day, and believing that success meant sacrifice.

At 36, I was at what I thought was a great place in my career. But behind the titles and the paychecks was a life slipping away. Each morning, I’d leave home while my little son and my months-old infant were still asleep, and by the time I returned, they were already back in bed. I was always traveling, always working—physically present in the office, but emotionally missing from the moments that mattered most. 

Then one day I said enough is enough. I quit my corporate job. And started freelancing. I became a B2B content writer. 

In my first year of freelancing, I made next to nothing. The second year wasn’t much different. Doubts crept in, and the fear of failure felt like a constant in my life.

But then, 3 years on, things started to shift.

One client became two. Two became four. And these clients didn’t just hire me — they stuck with me, project after project. 

They valued the work I delivered, trusted my expertise, and referred me to others.

Before I knew it, I had built a stable, thriving freelance business. The income matched — and eventually exceeded — what I earned in my corporate job.
